See you in September Blog Hop

Today is the last day of the of the "See You In September Hop" and also my day. First let me thank Mdm Samm and Shari for putting this whole thing together. I've enjoyed reading about and seeing the pictures of all the many projects that happened this summer. Now on to my projects. First, our family spent most of the summer waiting for a new addition. She is now here and I'm thrilled with my new lovely granddaughter. Big brother very graciously moved out of the nursery into his new big boy room done in a space theme. We found some cute rocket ship themed fabric from Michael Miller and I made curtains for two windows in his room. Here's the my dear little grandson with his new curtains.

Next baby sister needed a new quilt and so I checked the stash and found a darling Mary Engelbreit panel and it even included a gingham border. I added two green borders and a fun, bright, red print border to finish the quilt.

Then, I decided I wanted a new bookmark and wanted to include gingham in it as well. I designed and cross stitched this bookmark and had a great time making it. The fringe is made by fraying the aida fabric.
Last, and I hope not least, is my project using Riley Blake Ginham. Just a note to anyone who has not tried this fabric, it is wonderful to work with. I chose to make a bag to carry what ever project I'm working on. I didn't quilt it because I wanted to be able to easily put it into another bag when I travel by air. I combined it with another Riley Blake fabric by Amanda Herring of "The Quilted Fish". The appliques are from my scraps. I pulled out my "Accuquilt Go Round Flower" die and quickly cut two flowers. I appliqued them with a satin stitch and added very large ric rac.
I lined the inside with the same gingham with a nice big pocket to carry glasses, scissors, and anything else I may need. The bag is a generous 17"x 17"x 4" so it is big enough to throw in a book in case I get tired of working on the my project of the moment.
Some projects I'm looking forward to in the future include big boy quilts for my two grandsons, a Christmas Challenge Quilt, finishing two Block of the Month quilts and another couple of quilts for my little granddaughter. I'd love it if you would visit again!
Be sure to visit everyone else with projects today. Here's the links:

It's a New Blog Hop!

Sorry about there being no posts in August. I had a busy month with family visits and a new granddaughter. She's a darling little girl. You forget how tiny new babies are.
Now on to the blog hop. Thanks so much to Mdm Samm and Shari for putting this whole thing together. My day is on the sixteenth of this month, but I'm sure you will want to see all the other wonderful creations, so I've included a list. Enjoy!
