Still Not Sewing...Soon I Hope!

Hi, I'm still not sewing. The home improvement projects just keep happening, but I think I'm nearly done. I've been painting furniture, so I can't get the house back together for a while. It has to cure, but the good news is I'm done with the actual painting. My sewing machine is in the shop for a much needed tune-up, so I think I'm going to cross stitch for a few days. Yea!
So once again I' going to post a couple of quilts that I finished a while ago. The blue one is called "Stained Glass Kaleidascope" and measures 8 1/2 inches square. The other one is called "I Love Wild Roses". It is 36 inches square. I designed both quilts.

Not Sewing This Week...

Since I'm not sewing this week, I thought I would post a couple of pictures of mini's I finished some time ago. The flower quilt is 17" x 17" and feels like summer to me. The bookshelf quilt is 13" x 20". I'm the little girl in the picture. They are both my designs.

It's home improvement time around here. The living room is painted and ragged and I think it's looking really good. I haven't put it all back together yet, maybe tomorrow. Also my husband and I have been helping my sister install tile in her entry. Very hard work, but it's looking really good. I must tell you 20 inch square tiles are really heavy. I just need to paint several furniture items and then I can get back to my sewing room. Hopefully some time next week.

Still Christmas...another top finished

Ok, I'm still working on Christmas. This is a table runner I finished last night. It's my design again and evolved as I was sewing, but I think a lot of quilters work this way. Yes, the fabric (Mary Engelbreit, last year) is very bright. It's going in a basement family room and the weather it usually dark and stormy in December, besides I like bright. Nothing is quilted yet. I guess I will do a marathon when I finish all the tops.

It's Christmas in June at Apple Avenue!

These are a couple of projects that I have been working on. I decided that rather than leave all my Christmas projects until nearer to December (at which time they usually get shelved), I would finish them now and actually be able to enjoy them for the entire season. The tree skirt top is ready to be quilted. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do it. When that happens I will quilt it, then cut a slit to the middle and a hole to accomdate the tree, and then bind it. The wall hanging needs another border. Then quilting and binding. These are both my original designs and so far I'm really happy with them. There is a debate among those who have seen them, if the Santa or the snowman is cuter. I like both. These projects are for my husband's TV watching room. The tree there is very traditional and includes ornaments from the entire time we have been married and quite a few handmade ones from my children. I plan to also make a coordinating table runner and mantle scarf.
