Just Thought You Would Like to Know...

...That I was chosen for the May Desire to Inspire Challenge at the Henry Glass Fabrics Blog. You can find the post here:
I was given seven plus yards of wonderful "Jolly Ol' St. Nick" by Shelly Comiskey fabric to work with that included a fun panel.
I also included a PDF to make the projects. I will add a link under the "Free Patterns" section in my header.
I hope you enjoy my projects. They are all fun and easy to make and now would be a great time to get started on those Christmas projects!
Many thanks to the Henry Glass Fabrics blog for this opportunity.
It was great fun!

Oops! A Couple of Months Got Past Me

I had good intentions...I really did, but two and a half months just slipped by. I've been really busy during that time,  just not doing blog worthy projects. As I told you earlier we moved again and the house is brand new, which is wonderful, but means a lot of hard work. The basement was unfinished and there is absolutely no landscaping, so we've been working hard at both. The basement is finally done and a good part of the last two months was spent cleaning(construction is messy) and getting it together. We are still working on the yard and will be for quite some time. When you're living in a dirt patch you get really missing plants especially spring flowers, so I treated myself to some lovely hydro tulips. I will plant the bulbs outside as soon as there is a place.

We got the basement together just in time for a wonderful visit from our two sons and their children. They only stayed a few days but we enjoyed every minute. The kids played games inside and out as well as a bit of television time.
We also traveled the Nebo loop as far as we could before snow covered roads stopped us. I usually don't put pictures of myself on the blog because I'm the least photogenic person on the planet but somehow my son managed to take picture of us where I wasn't pulling a face. This is my husband and I. The snow covered mountains were stunning!
With the basement together and a lull in the landscaping I finally was able to go back to my sewing room. I made a fun wall quilt for my grandson's sixth birthday. I found the center block pattern on the Quiltmakers Magazine freebees and enlarged it and added borders. I was really pleased with the results and my grandson loved it. The rocket fabric in the border matches the curtains and quilt I made for his room.

I also made my granddaughter new bedding for her doll bed. It included a sheet, pillow, and quilt. She was thrilled with it and immediately started to play.
I've also been working pretty steadily on a cross stitch sampler in two shades of red. I found the pattern on the internet but I'm not sure where. I've completed the bottom half and am working on the top.
I'm actually further along than this picture shows. I hope to be back with the completed project soon.
