May's block is a super easy, fun block. Here is my block made from fabrics purchased for the project.
This is my scrappy version.
You can find the instructions here.
I promised to show you my fabric version of the April block as soon as I finished making them. I have been dealing with some health issues this month, which are hopefully nearly resolved. I'm hoping to have the blocks done in the next few days.
Now for the question. I had a no reply blogger ask what kind of sewing machine foot I used in my applique by machine. I use a applique foot. I sew with a Bernina sewing machine and the foot is number 20. It is open in the front so that you can see what you are stitching.
It also has kind of a fan shape on the bottom in the back which allows the stitches to pass under the foot smoothly.
I have used an ordinary foot before, just make sure your zig zag stitch is tight enough to cover completely, but not so tight it bunches up the stitches and catches on the foot. I hope this helps. If you are interested in my machine applique technique, instructions can be found in the Printable Tutorials tab just below the header.
