December Blocks

It's the last day of November already and I'm a little slow getting my December blocks posted. So here they are!

The tree is traditionally pieced and the wreath is foundation pieced. Both are pretty easy and fun to make. Here the link to the instructions. This is all of the blocks for this year. I hope you have enjoyed them and have been able to use some of the patterns. I used half of my blocks in a quilt top that I hope to get quilted soon.
The other half as Calendar Headers.
I will be back soon with a project using the December blocks.
Enjoy the last day of November, December and Christmas are fast approaching!

Welcome to my turn on the Holiday Lane Blog Hop. First of all let me thank Pauline and Madame Samm for putting this all together and to Jill of Jillily Studios for sharing her wonderful pattern with us.
When I first saw the pattern, I knew I wanted it to go in my little Victorian Parlor. I have a lovely sofa that was my Mom's, but if you're
looking for comfort this is not the sofa for you. So I decided the pillow would look lovely and maybe add some softness. I then went to my stash of very formal(mostly Hoffman)Christmas fabric. I changed things a little by adding more windows and doors. I also treated the border that Jill made into to a flanged edge as part of the pillow body. See what you think.
I had so much fun making this pillow that I decided to make two more smaller ones. Here's a picture of one.
Finally here's all of them on my sofa.
For more holiday fun, check out the rest of today's participants.

I hope you have a wonderful day and for those of you in the U. S. a very happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are gathering with friends or family to celebrate the day.

Flower Pillows

OK finally something I can show you! I made two pillows for my niece for her birthday last week. I used the tulip block from my May Block of the Month. The pattern and instructions for the block are in the "Free 2012 Block of the Month" tab just under the header.
Here's one of the pillows.
This is both of them on her bed.
These pillows were fun and easy to make. I just added a two inch border, then quilted in the ditch around the flowers and the edge of the block. I also quilted the back of the pillow in straight lines.
