Two More Baby Quilts and a Win

First let's start with the win. Wendy at Ivory Springs had a give away and I won a copy of the new Quilter's World. I have enjoyed reading it and Wendy has a really cute quilt in it. Thank you Wendy!

Now onto the quilts. I found the pattern for the redwork blocks in a old copy of American Patchwork and Quilting. I loved the embroidery blocks but wanted to do something different to set them, so I sat down and designed several settings and let my husband choose. I think he chose the right one!

The next quilt is one by Brandywine designs called Critter Caboodle. The instructions called for hand applique which I don't do, so I fused all the little critters then appliqued them with a satin stitch (really close zigzag). I don't have and embroidery machine so it is all hand guided. Sorry the picture leaves something to be desired, so I included close-ups.
The middle block. This one took a while to applique. Soooo many little critters.

The triple animal block.

The horse and dog block.

The frog block. Doesn't he look happy!

And finally the back.
I hope my new grandson (when he's born) and his parents enjoy them.

Jill, the quilts are absolutely darling! I especially love the redwork one. I agree that Dave did a wonderful job choosing the layout.
